The facility includes classrooms, administrative offices, high-bay training spaces, and advanced labs for robotics, mechatronics, welding, and automated assembly systems.

It also features a 6,000-SF high-end multi-purpose space known as Momentum, along with elevated architectural finishes such as terrazzo flooring, decorative wood paneling, and custom ceiling systems.

At full capacity, the center can train up to 824 individuals at a time in support of Hyundai’s long-term Georgia workforce needs.

From the outset, the project demanded an aggressive and highly adaptive delivery strategy shaped by overlapping design and construction phases, evolving owner requirements, and a firm completion deadline tied to Hyundai’s production ramp-up.

Choate released early procurement packages for structural steel, switchgear, and major mechanical equipment before design completion, and directly purchased critical MEP equipment to better control long-lead delivery timelines. Sequencing prioritized the two-story training and lab building first, helping the team establish permanent power early and maintain momentum across the site.

Because the building was designed around hands-on training, mockups and field coordination played a major role in finalizing specialty finishes and technical elements.

Large in-place mockups were used for epoxy flooring, steel trench cover plates were coordinated to meet tight tolerances for automated guided vehicles, and full-scale cardboard mockups helped simulate robotic exhaust arm placement before final installation.

Choate’s VirtualWorks team also modeled all major structural and MEP systems, identifying and preventing more than 5,000 clashes during coordination.

The Hyundai Mobility Training Center of Georgia establishes a new benchmark for workforce development tied to advanced manufacturing. Beyond supporting immediate training needs, the facility serves as a flexible, future-ready platform for emerging technologies and stands as a lasting investment in Georgia’s talent pipeline.
