Eyes on the Past, Present, and Future
A dynamic mix of diverse industry expansion has been the catalyst for significant growth and increased interest in one of the nation’s largest port areas. This development, coupled with commitment and enthusiasm to preserving our precious natural and cultural treasures, remains a forefront priority across Savannah and the Lowcountry.
With diversity across all market sectors, our project teams have become experts in their field, enabling us to better serve our clients.
Recent Project Experience
Building Careers for Future Generations
Partnering with local colleges and universities, such as Georgia Southern University and Savannah State University, our project teams have hosted design and construction classes at every stage of the academic journey, giving students a firsthand look at active construction. We also engage students year-round to help launch their careers with summer and semester-long internships. Many of those interns have gone on to full-time roles across nearly every department at Choate.

I decided to stay with Choate after my internship because of the supportive culture, strong leadership, and the opportunity to continue learning and building my career alongside such a great team.

Building Safer, Stronger Communities
OneLife means humbly putting first the safety and well-being of the talented, hardworking people who build Choate’s projects. In Savannah, visible examples of our OneLife culture include worker welfare tents on our projects, OSHA strategic partnership programs, and opportunities for first responders to conduct tactical rescue training on our jobsites.
We also engage our community by contributing our time, talents, and resources. Over the years, Choate's Savannah team has partnered with organizations including Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity, Coastal Georgia Second Harvest, Salvation Army, The Living Vine Maternity Home, Clean Coast, Blood Cancer United, Girl Scouts of America, and many others to keep people and community the focus of our service.

Work Smart. Play Hard.
Living on the coast, it’s hard not to get caught up in the salt life.
From fishing tournaments and beach cleanups to waterfront picnics and Ghost Pirates games, our employee-owners make time to unwind, connect, and have fun together. We also enjoy bringing others into the fold, such as hosting a local architecture firm each month for an afternoon of conversation and camaraderie, and welcoming our subcontractors and suppliers to our annual oyster roast as a way to personally thank the many men and women who keep our projects moving forward.
