Airspeed: 23XI Racing

Airspeed reflects a shift from the traditional industrial race shop model to a high-performance workplace built for collaboration, efficiency, and visibility across departments. The facility centers on a highly visible competition floor with organized prep bays, support areas, and a theater-style strategy room for race-day command. Collaborative workstations connect technical and business teams, while fitness, recovery, lounge, café, and hospitality spaces support employees and guests. Signature meeting rooms, trophy displays, and sneaker installations create a headquarters that feels both elite and personal.

Public areas showcase the 23XI brand through displays, viewing opportunities, and interactive media features. A two-story glazed entry acts as a “jewel box,” displaying race-winning cars and revealing the energy of the team inside. Custom tilt-up panels feature hand-painted murals inspired by Jordan’s iconic elephant and camo patterns, layered over a wood plank texture that adds depth at every scale. Above, a black ACM crown with color-changing LED lighting wraps the building, evoking the motion and energy of a racetrack.

The project was delivered on an aggressive 11-month schedule ahead of the 2024 racing season. Early site challenges, including the removal of more than 25,000 CY of unsuitable soil, compressed the timeline and required disciplined coordination across all trades. A phased construction approach allowed key activities to progress in parallel, ensuring a successful, on-time delivery.

Tilt-up concrete construction served as both the structural system and architectural canvas, enabling speed, durability, and design flexibility at scale. Panels were cast and erected in multiple phases to accelerate steel installation and maintain schedule continuity. Each panel incorporated complex geometries, including diagonal reveals, integrated storefront systems, and 23-degree angled openings to serve as a precise and intentional nod to the team’s identity.

The result is a highly engineered and visually dynamic facility that elevates tilt-up beyond efficiency, demonstrating its potential as a refined, expressive solution aligned with the innovation and competitive spirit of 23XI Racing.
