Safety Hub

When you build with Choate, you are part of the team. We take pride in strong working relationships with trade partners who bring skill, integrity, and care to every project.

Safety: Built from the Start

Safety is personal. It starts before work begins and shows up in every decision made in the field.

Through OneLife, everyone shares the same commitment to planning ahead, speaking up, and looking out for one another. We value trade partners who take that responsibility seriously, because the goal is bigger than a successful project. It is making sure everyone goes home safely.

OneLife Partnership Commitments

Strong partnerships work best when everyone understands how to support one another. These shared commitments help Choate and our trade partners create jobsites that are safe, coordinated, respectful, and productive from day one.

What should trade partners expect of Choate?

When working with Choate, count on clear communication, reliable coordination, and a genuine commitment to safe, productive work.

Our trade partners can expect our Choate team to:

  • Come prepared with solidified safety, sequencing, and logistics plans
  • Stay actively engaged from start to finish
  • Set up project-specific expectations early, so every trade understands the scope, the risks, and how the work will unfold.

From safety meetings and housekeeping to break areas and daily flow, we will manage jobsites where people are respected, well-supported, and positioned to do their best work.

What does Choate expect of its trade partners?

Every trade partner plays a direct role in keeping our jobsites safe, coordinated, and productive, and we take that shared responsibility seriously.

Every trade partner should:

  • Arrive on site trained and fully prepared
  • Follow all project safety requirements and communicate concerns early
  • Participate in orientations and safety meetings.
  • Plan their work with surrounding trades in mind to keep everyone safe and the project moving smoothly.

When trade partners stay engaged, maintain clean and organized work areas, and speak up when something needs attention, it strengthens the shared OneLife commitment to ensuring everyone returns home safely.

Suicide Prevention

Safety That Supports the Whole Person

Choate takes a broader view of safety by recognizing the connection between physical health, mental health, fatigue, and overall well-being. In an industry deeply affected by suicide and substance use, we work to normalize conversations around stress, recovery, and support.

On our jobsites, that commitment shows up in practical ways, from mental health standdowns to shaded worker welfare areas that provide a comfortable, cool, and hygienic space to rest, eat, and wash up throughout the day.

Bi-lingual Safety Orientations, Built for the Field

Clear communication is critical to every facet of the job but safety above all. Choate is modernizing bilingual site orientations with Nyfty.ai’s Safety Orientation Bot, giving workers a field-friendly way to complete training by QR code, text, or kiosk. Integrated with Procore, the process keeps records organized, training consistent, and project teams connected to site-specific safety messaging.

Choate Nashville's Fairington Amenity Center Project holds its safety standdown, sharing National Safety Week's "All In Together" safety message with their trade partners.
